Hey friends! So I just back from Phoenix a couple of days ago and we did some fun stuff (and some not so fun stuff.. business trips man) while we were down there. This was my first time exploring the Phoenix area, I’ve only ever been to the airport for flight connections and it is just beautiful.

Catch a Diamondbacks game at Chase Field
I’m not the biggest sports fan but even I was in awe about how cool Chase Field is. I mean, any sports arena that has its own swimming pool inside of it is pretty awesome. We watched the Diamondbacks take on the Dodgers (and of course I cheered for the Dodgers, they’re my home team so…) and the crowd energy was so infectious. The roof was closed on the day we went so even though it was 105 degrees outside, it was a comfortable 74 degrees inside.
Stay at The Wig Wam Resort in Litchfield Park.
Okay to be honest, if we had to pay for this trip with our own money… I probably wouldn’t have picked this place because it is expeeeensive. But I’m really glad that we did stay here because it was so cool. I spent a lot of my time reading a book (yay for no more reading slump!!) by the three swimming pools they have. Sadly, I didn’t get a tan but what can you do. There’s a ton of cute bars and restaurants all within walking distance of the resort so you never have to go far.
Visit the Desert Botanical Garden.
Even this costs $22 a person, it is SO COOl especially if you’re a cactus lover like I am. The Desert Botanical Garden is a 140 acres botanical garden located in Papago Park in Phoenix and it has over 21,000 different plants. Awe inspiring.
Hike Camelback Mountain.
There’s two different routes you can take – we chose Echo Canyon. We didn’t complete the hike since there was 100-degree heat advisory but it was so beautiful and it was great exercise. I definitely don’t recommend this if you’re new to hiking or if you have an inversion to heights though.
